MEET THE TEAM LEADER/OWNER:

Sara McMahan, PT, PCS

Sara is a pediatric physical therapist with over 33 years of clinical experience working with a variety of diagnoses and age ranges from premature infants all the way through teens and young adults. She is a board-certified Pediatric Certified Specialist who has also completed the 8-week Bobath/ Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT) course. She is trained in The Halliwick Method of aquatic therapy, The SOS Approach to Problem Feeding, Interactive Metronome©, and has experience in sensory integration and other methods of therapeutic interventions. She also lectures on a variety of topics including NDT, sensory integration, serial casting, aquatic therapy, spasticity management, and movement disorders in children with ASD.  She is currently a doctoral student in the area of Infant and Early Childhood Development with an emphasis on Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities.  Sara and her husband founded The T.E.A.M. Approach in March of 2002 with the goal of providing quality, comprehensive services to children with disabilities and their families.

Cheryl Demas, PT Cheryl is a Physical Therapist. Cheryl has more than 27 years of experience in the physical therapy world. She brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our clinic and we are very happy to have her.

Laura Lohse, PTA Laura is a Physical Therapist Assistant with over 18 years of pediatric experience in a variety of settings. Her clinical skills are built upon field experience in the home health, outpatient, acute care, and school-based settings as well as continuing education. She graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree in 1994 earning highest honors while maintaining active membership in Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. Laura maintains a strong commitment to community service activities such as Girl Scouts and working with local Animal Rescue.

Leslie Gonzalez, DPT Leslie is a Physical Therapist at the T.E.A.M. Approach. She received her doctorate of physical therapy in 2014 from Texas Woman's University. Her previous clinical experiences include pediatric outpatient and inpatient settings. Throughout her undergraduate degree program at Texas A&M, Leslie worked on the Program Staff at Camp For All, which is a camp for people with special needs and chronic illnesses.

Lee Ruonavaara, PT

Holly Filip, COTA Holly is a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. Holly is trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding, Therapeutic Listening®, and Interactive Metronome©. She also has advanced training in sensory integration and she is trained as a DIR/Floortime Basic Provider. Holly is the Quality Improvement Coordinator for The TEAM Approach.

Micaela Nettleton, MOTOTR

Meagan Wisniewski Pasquini, MOT, OTR Meagan is an Occupational Therapist at the T.E.A.M. Approach. Meagan graduated with her Master of Occupational Therapy degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2014. She has received additional training in the Handwriting Without Tears® curriculum and the SOS Approach to Feeding.

Susannah Lewallen, MA, CCC-SLP Susannah is a Speech-Language Pathologist at The T.E.A.M. Approach. She received her graduate degree from the University of Houston. She has worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist in pediatric and adult settings. She is a trained provider for the Beckman Oral Motor Program, Therapeutic Listening®, and the SOS Approach to feeding.

Vicki Schuetz, MS CCC-SLP Vicki is a Speech-Language Pathologist at the T.E.A.M Approach. She received her graduate degree in 2009 from Baylor University. She has clinical and work experience in pediatric settings. Her interests and experience include early intervention, memory, and phonology.

Deanna Walsh, MS CCC-SLP Deanna is a Speech-Language Pathologist at The T.E.A.M. Approach. She received her graduate degree in 2006 from the University of North Dakota. She has clinical and work experience in both the elementary school and pediatric outpatient settings. She has Level 1 training in the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Her interests and experiences include early intervention, oral motor deficits, articulation, and Childhood Apraxia of Speech.

Melissa Avery, MS, CCC-SLP

John McMahan, Practice Manager John is Co-Owner of The T.E.A.M. Approach. He and his wife, Sara opened the clinic in 2002. John assists with office duties and behind the scene requirements to keep The T.E.A.M. Approach running smoothly to continuously serve our clients.

Shilpa Shah, Insurance Representative Shilpa is responsible for Insurance claims and appeals. She also assists with patient accounts as needed. Shilpa is greatly appreciated by all our therapists and families.
